Muhoroni Youth was among the KPL clubs that proceeded to the next round of the Gotv Shield Cup with an emphatic 3-0 win over visiting ZETEC University at the Muhoroni Stadium yesterday.
Muhoroni Youth who tested their new signings in the match had all the three goals netted by the new signings.
Immediate former Sony Sugar man Wycliffe Nyangechi opened the score sheet in the 3rd minute with a fine free kick before former Shabana and Gor Mahia striker Francis Ochola added the second 9 minutes later with a superb header from an Abbas Akinyemi corner.
New signing Wycliffe Ochomo, formerly with Police FC completed the route with a solo fine display rounding up Zetech keeper for a 3-0 half time lead.
Wycliff Ochomo had to call for his own substitution after getting injured and was replaced by Masita
On resumption both teams struggled to find the back of the net with former Gor Mahia striker now turning for Zetech Dancun Owiti a victim of several missed chances with a clear one on one saved by impressive Joseck Gathongo in the Muhoroni goal.
Zetech head coach Sammy Omollo made two changes at the hour mark but all were fruitless as the Francis Baraza coached side sailed through to the next round.
In other matches played over the weekend Bandari beat visiting Savannah FC from Nairobi by 2-0 at the Mbaraki Sports complex with Farud Mohammed and Omar Boraafya.
Thika United playing at their own backyard, The Thika County Stadium demolished KWS Amboseli 6-0 while FKF-PL side Shabana FC squandered a 1-0 lead to go down 2-3 against visiting Ulinzi Stars at the Safaricom County Stadium in Nairobi.
National Super league side GFE 105, a team that eliminated Gor Mahia in the previous edition saw off Muranga All stars 2-0 while Timsales edged out Vapours Sports 4-3 on post match penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Vihiga United beat Silibwet 2-0 as Wazito knocked Kiambu All stars 3-0.
Earlier on Saturday, Administration Police crushed Isiolo based Taqwa FC 5-1 with Tusker FC registering a similar scoreline against Nyakach United.
Nairobi County lost 2-0 to Administration Police Bomet while Busia based Border Lions eased past Kanjemi United 4-5 on post match penalties.
Another KPL side Western Stima beat Boma 4-0 at the Kisumu County Stadium.
