Issues of unpaid bonuses have again resurfaced as the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau boycotted training on Wednesday in France.
The team complained of unpaid bonuses for previous matches including 2017 Africa Cup of Nations competition in Gabon.
The team led by Captain Zezinho Lopez withdrew from training in Paris ahead of an international friendly with Burkina Faso complaining about their unpaid bonuses.
“We apologize to the Guinean people for the occurrence, but we want the next generation to represent the country with dignity”,said Zezinho
“They promised to pay their debts here in Paris, and when we got here we heard the old story that there’s no money. Until tomorrow, if there are no solutions, let’s go .”
However, after meetings with the Guinea-Bissau Football Association (FFGB) hours ago they have agreed to play in a match which is current underway in Paris.
A source close to the camp informed Soka25east that the players they later issued a statement and vowed not to play for the national team again if their entitlements are not paid as promised.
