Horoya AC booked their spot in the La Coupe Nationale Cup semi-finals after defeating Sankaran 4-0 at Faranah Stadium.
It was a lively start to the encounter, as both sides made their intentions clear from the onset.
Although the first real opening arrived after 5th minute when Balmay Bongaura was forced into a superb save by Abdoulaye Paye’s long range effort.
The defending champions got an opener three minutes late when Ghanaian striker Oncansey Mandela took an advantage of good work by Francis Dipita to make it 1-0.
Horoyo continued to dictate play and on 10th minute Papa Amodou Traore extended the lead after beating Sankaran defenders to send a low shot intoan empty net.
Sankaran were quite content to sit back for the rest of the opening half, with the hope of catching Horoya on the counter.
In the second stanza Horoya extended their lead on the hour mark, as some quick thinking saw Baffour Sembe play in Pape Camara, who teed up Bassirou Oueraogo to tap home from six-yards out.
Safaran nearly pulled a goal back a few minutes later when when an un-marked Zvunka Victor headed out from six-yards.
Horoyaadded a third goal after 81 minutes when Mandela was left one-on-one Bangoura for his brace from close range.
Sankran nearly got an equaliser in the 88th minute Sory Almany, who could only strike the upright.
Nonetheless, Horoya managed to see out the closing stages to claim the win and secure their spot in the last four.
