The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), Organising Committee has said that Guinea is on the right track to host the event.
The event will be hosted at different venues including Boke, Kindia, Labe and Conakry Regional Stadiums.
The Organising Committee of the tournament is doing everything possible to have the best event ever.
In an exclusive interview Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Mamadi Camara said Guinea is on the right track to host the tournament in 2023.
“I reassure everyone that this competition will be held in Guinea, because there is a political will. This has been proven in events we have hosted in the past,”Camara told Soaka25east.
There has been concern in Guinea that they might be stripped off the opportunity to host Nations Cup for the first time following questions about Caf’s decision in 2014 to award the hosting rights for the next three finals to West African Francophone speaking countries.
However, the African football organizing body through President Ahmad late last year insisted Caf has never officially considered taking the tournaments away from Guinea, Cameroon (in 2019) and Ivory Coast (in 2021).
