Hakim Ziyech has made the Morocco 23-man squad which was unveiled by team manager Herve Renard ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Egypt.
His Ajax teammate Noussair Mazroaui has also made the list while Hebein China Fortune FC forward Ayoub El Kaabi has been excluded from the team.
Other notable inclusions in the 23 man squad are Khalid Boutaïb of Zamalek, Soufiane Boufal of Celta Vigo and Osama Idrissi who plies his trade for AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch League.
The Atlas Lions will be hoping to end a long 43 year wait for a title they last won in 1976 by navigating through a tournament that has seen a shift from 16 teams to 24, the highest in the competition’s history.
The Atlas Lions are drawn in Group D alongside Ivory Coast, South Africa and Namibia. The first assignment will be to tackle the tricky Namibia on Sunday 23 June 2019 with kick off billed for 17:30 East African Time.
