Kenya’s women’s senior team the “Harambee Starlets” have arrived in Uganda for the regional CECAFA Women’s Championship that kicks-off on Sunday 11 in Jinja town.

The team of 23 departed Nairobi for Kampala early morning Friday aboard Kenya Airways flight. In the mix is 16-year old Nyakach Girls High School goalkeeper Lilian Awuor – fresh from playing the East African Secondary School games in Eldoret, Kenya.

Also in the squad ranked among the favorites to lift the second edition of the tournament is Esse Akide who top scored for the Starlets in the COTIF invitational tournament in Spain a month ago.

Starlets are in group “A” of the competition together with hosts Uganda, Burundi and Zanzibar.
