Kenya’s senior women football team the “Harambee Starlets” are tentatively scheduled to host their neighbors from Uganda the “She Cranes” in an international friendly at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium in July.

The Kenyan Football Federation (FKF) and their counterparts Federation of Ugandan Football Association (FUFA) are working closely on the finer details of tie as confirmed by the Vice President of FKF Doris Petra.

Starlets, East Africa’s sole representative in this year’s Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) set for Cameroon starting November, will be using the warm-up as part of preparations for the continental showpiece which they will be gracing for the very first time.

A trip to Spain thereafter for further sharpening is also confirmed for the Kenyan ladies who surprised the nation by eliminating Algeria on away goals rule for a ticket to Cameroon.

Women’s league has since been revived in the country as one way of keeping the girls active and promoting the game among girls in Kenya.
