Harambee Starlets midfielder Cynthia Shilwatso has finalised her move to Spanish side EDF Logroño on a three-year deal.
She had been in talks with the club since January but the coronavirus pandemic stalled everything.
Ex club coach Alex Alumirah who is attached to Kenya Women’s Premier League (KWPL) side Vihiga Queens was elated.
“It’s satisfying to see players you’ve worked with and developed go to the outside world to show their skills.”
Shilwatso began her football career at Ibinzo Girls High School. She was identified by scouts during last year’s Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa) Women’s Challenge where Kenya defeated hosts Tanzania 2-0 to clinch the title.
