Kenya’s Women’s national team Harambee Starlets have been shortlisted for the Confederation of African Football Women’s National Team of the Year Award 2017.
Starlets will fight it out with Ghana U20, Nigeria U20, South Africa and Zimbabwe women’s teams for the biggest honor in Africa.
The Kenyan queens have been on the rise and made history by qualifying for the 2016 Cameroon AWCON.
Despite exiting the tournament without a win, their story of determination and hope won them many admirers in and animated the women’s game which is relatively new in the country.
The team finished fourth at this year’s COSAFA women’s championships in Zimbabwe.
The winners for the award and others will be decided by votes from the members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee, CAF Media Experts Panel and independent Media and TV Consultants.
