Harambee Stars will play Liberia in an international friendly match at the Safaricom Stadium in Nairobi tommorrow.
Both countries have met two times with Harambee Stars emerging victorious on both occassions.Their only two meetings were during World Cup qualifiers in 1989 where Kenya won 1-0 on aggregate. The teams drew 0-0 in January in Monrovia before Stars won 1-0 at home on 12 August, 1989.
Coach Stanely Okumbi knows his side have to win the high-profile match as he hopes to maintain 100 percent aganist the Liberians.
The tactician believes his experience and youthful side would tear apart the depleted visitors in his pursuit of eight unbeaten matches.
Okumbi is expected to give chance to the players that he did not use aganist Mozambique.Allan Wanga and Ayumb Timbe will be at the coach disposal in his push to get good results aganist the West Africans.
Liberia Coach James Salinsa Debbah is expected to use three debutantes in that match with Spain based Joel Johnson and Former Manchester City striker Alex Nimely expected to play a key role in the attack.
Speaking to the press immediately after the team arrival Debbah expressed his confidence that his boys will grab a win.
“To be honest, I’m building my team. These are young players that we are trying to groom. I haven’t seen Kenya playing but my expectations, we definitely believe we can win and they are optimistic,” Debbah said.
Harambee Stars under Okumbi has an impressive record currently standing at three wins, four draws and two defeats in the ten matches that he has been incharge.
