Mwadui FC midfielder Hassan Kabunda has been named Vodacom Tanzania premier league February player of the month beating stiff competition from Simba duo of Burundian international striker Laudit Mavugo and Tanzanian international Ibrahim Ajib.
Making the official announcement, Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) communications officer Alfred Lucas Mapunda cited the players excellent form for his club as the reason for scooping the award.
“Kabunda has played 270 minutes in 3 matches with Mwadui winning 2 matches and suffering defeat in 1, collecting a total of 6 points and climbing from 8th to 6th in the league’s table standings,In the 3 matches Hassan scored 4 of the 6 goals scored by Mwadui.”
The award sees Hassan who is part of the 26 strong contingent called up to the Taifa Stars squad by coach Salum Mayanja take home 1 Million Tanzanian shillings courtesy of the league’s title sponsors Vodacom.
