The axe has fallen on yet another Nigeria Professional League (NPFL) coach after Heartland FC coach Ramson Madu was shown the door.
Madu becomes the latest tactician to be shown the door after Kwara United fired coach John Obuh a few weeks ago.
Hearland FC chairman Goodfaith Chibuzor Etuemena confirmed that Madu has been shown the door following the club’s string of poor performances this season which have put the club at a risk of being relegated.
“We have decided to sack Madu because the performance has not been good and i am not happy at all. The team is bigger than anybody and we will not continue to see things deteriorating and that is why he had to step aside.”
“Eziekel Onyegbule will take over the team as we look to make further changes,” said Etuemena.
A former player of the club, Madu made the headlines this month when he accused “my enemies” of using the players to get him fired.
“My players did not play this match for me or the club,” he blasted after they lost 3-0 at MFM FC in Lagos.
“They played this match like ‘accord’ (fixed) match.
“People have penetrated my team to destroy me. My enemies have penetrated into my players to destroy me and they have succeeded.”
Heartland are currently placed 18th on the NPFL log with 13 points from 13 games and will next face at home 12th placed Nasarawa United on Sunday
