Burkina Faso international Herve Koffi is among the five African players short listed by GoalPoint for “Diamante Por LAPIDAR” award.
Koffi, a 20 year old goalkeeper who plays for Ivory Coast’s Ligue 1 side ASEC Mimosas FC, has made to the list drawn up based on the performance of the players below the age of 24 and who represented their respective countries in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations that was held in Gabon in January this year .
Apart from Koffi, the other player expected to scoop the award is Guinea Bissau forward Toni Silva who made a good show demonstrating good qualities.
According to GoalPoint, Toni Silva finished the event with impressive 64% dribbling effectiveness in the matches he played,with an average 2.6 fouls every 90 minutes and was involved in and about three finish plays each game despite not scoring any goal in the tournament.
In addition to the two youngsters, the list includes 22-year-old Gabonese Denis Bouanga currently in Tours DE France, Cameroonian Christian Bassogog, 21 and Tunisian defensive midfielder Mohamed Ben Amor,24 years old who still plays for ES Sahel in his country.
