2010 Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club Tuesday 4 penned a two-year sponsorship contract with cement giants “Hima Cement” at Golf Course hotel, Kampala.

The deal worth $185,865.953 covers the team’s kitting, medical and money for administration.

Hima Cement, a subsidiary of Bamburi Cement Limited, a member of the LafargeHolcim group a leading producer of building materials in the world has been known to support rugby in the country, with the Vipers’ sponsorship being a first for them in football.

Present during the signing ceremony was among others the club president Lawrence Mulindwa who urged fans to maintain good corporate image of their first ever sponsor and the also of the club.

“I urge fans to keep discipline. We need to protect the name of Vipers and our sponsor.” The veteran football administrator told Kawowo.

Vipers are currently placed second on the UPL log after eight rounds of matches with 15 points, three off leaders and defending champions KCCA.
