Huddersfield have signed striker Steve Mounie from Monterpellier for a club record fee.
The Benin International, 22, who scored fourteen goals in 32 games has signed a four year deal.
The fee, reported to be £11.5m, breaks Huddersfield’s previous record – the £3.5m paid for Porto striker Laurent Deportie in June 2017.
Huddersfield manager David Wagner described Mounie as a perfect signing who suits to be at the top level.
“I’m delighted that we could sign Steve ahead of the start of pre-season training.
“He has a very exciting combination of attributes that makes his a very attractive proposition as a young striker.
“He has real physical attributes that should be perfect for the Premier League.
Mounie has been capped seven times by Benin, but does not require a work permit as he has dual French nationality.
