Kenyan based sports betting company Sportpesa is the new shirt sponsor of English Premier League returnees Hull City for the next three years.

As part of the deal confirmed today (Monday), the Tigers will tour the East African nation and play a select team in a warm-up fixture.

“Part of our deal will see The Tigers be the first English Premier League team ever to come to Kenya to play a select side as part of our campaign towards having Kenya compete in the World Cup for the first time in 2022.” Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri.

Hull will also conduct training camps for grassroots football in the country in a similar arrangement to one already in place between the company and another EPL club Arsenal.

The Gunners already sent their technical staff in June, lead by former defender Sol Campbell for a week long coaching/training clinics.

Formed two years ago, Sportpesa has become a recognisable brand in supporting different sports in Kenya with the Hull deal the first outside venture. The company is the official title sponsor of the Kenyan Premier League; they also sponsor AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, the country’s most celebrated clubs.
