English Premiership side Hull City will tour Kenya next month.
While in Kenya they will play a friendly match against Kenyan Premier League Champions Gor Mahia or Kenya Cup holders AFC Leopards at Kasarani Stadium on 13th May 2018.
To play The Tigers, Gor and Leopards will clash in “Hull City Challenge” on 1st May (Labour Day) at Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium with the winner earning the ticket.
The tour is part of a partnership between Sportpesa and Hull City and its aim is to “expose local players to international competition and increasing their exposure on the world football scene.”
Hull will also conduct coaching clinics in the country during the visit.
The three teams are sponsored by the betting behemoth.
“Our partnership with Hull City is intended to benefit local players – and that is why they will also be conducting a coaching clinic and a training camp while they are here,” Ronald Karauri, Sportpesa CEO, said.
Hull City coach, Nigel Adkins, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for the club to be able to go play in Kenya. The passion for football out there is enormous and we can’t wait to interact with the local teams. I’m very honored to be the first coach to bring the team to Africa.”
This will be the second time a Kenyan team plays the club after a Kenyan AllStars team faced a development-side Hull City team at KCOM Stadium in the UK on February 27, 2017.
The all-stars team was made up of 18 players picked from various Sportpesa Premier League clubs.
