Ethiopia’s coach Mariano Barreto has acknowledged that his contract with the Ethiopian Football Federation(EFF) was terminated on mutual consent between both parties as he further intimated that he had no regrets having taken charge of Walia Ibex in the one year that he was incharge.
Speaking exclusively to soka25east.com Mariano alluded to the fact that he gave his best and the fact that his family was far away it was hard for him to continue with his tenure.
“Yes my dear i can confirm to you that my contract was terminated on mutual consent with the federation . I Think that it was the best for the both parties because i was alone here and missing my family. Now they can prepare for the next fixtures”
“It has not been an easy ride at the helm of Walia because at one point when i was appointed i almost thought of quitting since not everybody at EFF gave me the support i needed.I am however happy that i introduced young players to the team something that was never done and it will be nice seeing them grow and be consistent in the national team.I have not regrets at all and only wish the team all success in the upcoming Afcon qualifers”Mariano told Soka25east.com
Mariano Barreto was appointed as head coach in 2014 after the dismissal of coach Sewnet Bishaw but only managed to get a win against Mali away in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifers .
