Zambia has produced alot of prolific goalscorers in the beautiful game of football.The likes of Godfrey ”Ucah” Chitalu,Peter Kaumba,Babo Malitole,Collins Mbesuma only to name a few.Lineker Mwikisa is one Striker who is slowly but surely gaining recognition from the soccer fans and the football family at large for his goal scoring prowess.
The Green Buffaloes on loan Striker to Costa do sol in Mozambique has played 13 games and has been involved in ten of Do sol’s goals,Scoring 7 times and providing 3 Assists.I took time to interview the goal porcher on life away from home and how this entire experience has been for him so far.
Mwikisa is full of praise for his coach Nelson Santos ”He has really helped me .He plays me according to my strong points and makes the team play to my strengths .He’s like a friend always making me feel at home.He is a very ambitious young Portuguese coach”.Mwikisa said.
”Mfiki from south Africa is my closest team mate .He is a friendly guy and very funny.I speak Zulu with him sometimes and we even go out to eat after training.Sometimes he invites me and my Malawin house mate Chimanga Kayira and we have a braii .He helped he to settle down here” Mwikisa answered when asked about who his closest team mate is.
Mwikisa admitted missing home and his family.”I miss home alot and i wish my family was here” Mwikisa said .”I get lonely and only stay indoors playing Video games and watching Movies.Sometimes i go to visit my Sister ,her husband works at the Zambian Embassy here” he further added.
Mwikisa said he had learnt alot important Mozambique .Citing language and Culture as the major lessons.”Portuguese is a very good language ,I’m actually enjoying it and its alot similar to Spanish.AtleastIf i met Cristiano Ronaldo i would have a conversation with him in Portuguese .I enjoy their Food ,its really one of the best.The Portuguese people are really good when it comes to preparing Food”.He said.
His numbers speak for themselves and as such a national team call up may not be far off for the talented big and strong center Forward.He has helped Costa Do Sol to lead the Mozambique Macobola with his contribution.
