Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winner  and provided an assist as Manchester City beat bitter town rivals Manchester United  1-2 in the Manchester Derby played at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Iheanacho pounced on a rebound from a Kevin De Bruyne strike after the ball hit the upright.

The 19 year old striker gladly pounced on the loose ball after beating the offside trap to slot home passed David De Gea from close range.

De Bruyne had earlier put Manchester City ahead in the 15th minute thanks to Iheanacho’s assist before the Belgian created a chance for Iheanacho to make it 2-0.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled a goal back before halftime but Manchester City held on.

Iheanacho’s winner puts Man City on top of the log standings with 12 points and preserves a 100 percent start for Pep Guardiola.
