Naby Keita has send a good will message to the Guinea camp ahead tonight’s clash with Algeria at Africa Cup of Nations Tournament in Egypt.
Keita left the Guinea camp for further medical examination at his club, Liverpool after suffering an Injury during a group match against Nigeria.
The Midfielder announced on his Instagram account that he won’t be returning to Egypt as his team gets ready to face Algeria tonight.
“Greetings family ?? !! I’m on my knees, even on the ground and both hands behind my back to announce that I could not return to Egypt to continue the CAN. On this I ask you to forgive me for the love of God. Going into my professional future, I hope to better serve my nation very soon..Good match to you guys for tonight, ” He said.
Keita suffered a blow on his thigh in the Syli Nationale’s 1-0 loss to Nigeria last Wednesday, and was not fit enough to play in Sunday’s crucial game against Burundi.
The midfielder was an unused substitute in Cairo as Paul Put’s side romped to a 2-0 win over the Swallows in their final group fixture.
