Burkina Faso forward Jonathan Zongo has been flown to a hospital in Libreville before leaving to Spain for further treatment.

The striker suffered a muscle tear during the game aganist Gabon on Wednesday in Libreville, a game that left his team with two points after two Group A matches.

According to a member of Burkina Faso FA deligation who did not want his name mentioned, the young lad who plays for US Almeria in Spain potrayed sense of braveness with a deep smile as the federation delegation visited his room before he was placed in a waiting ambulance that was to take him to the airport.

“Before we departed for Franceville,I went to Jonathan Zongo’s room to inquire about his health and to give him encouragement, I was very happy for his broad smile which is a sign of courageousness,” he said

“In our conversation he said this to me,:This is normal of a footballer, I wish my colleagues all the best in remaining matches:” he said.

“Then leaning on his crutches he headed out to the ambulance that was waiting for him in front of the hotel and was smilling all the way to ambulance.

“When he was inside the ambulance he raised his head and said this to his colleague Patrick Malo: “Malo, Rabasb-deh”.Simply meaning: “Malo, we must not let them win,” reffering to our Sunday’s opponent and all the others who would follow.”

Burkina Faso will play their last game aganist Guinea Bissau on Sunday in a match they need to win inorder to improve their chances of making it to the quarter finals.
