Is Jacques Tuyisenge the man to replace Michael Olunga at K’Ogalo?

Is Jacques Tuyisenge the man to replace Michael Olunga at K’Ogalo?

Michael Olunga is reported to be seeking release letter from Gor Mahia, signaling his end days at the 2015 Champions after a splendid season. His next destination is however still a subject of speculations, with fingers pointing at a possible switch to Europe or South Africa.

“Engineer” netted 40 goals in all competitions in the 2015 season, emerging the KPL most valuable player.

To fill his big shoes, the 15-time league winners are in hot pursuit of Rwandan international Jacques Tuyisenge; a development confirmed by both the player and a Gor Mahia official close to the ongoings.

The former Kiyovu Sports man expressed his desire to crossover to KPL and specifically to Gor Mahia last month in an interview with Supersport journalist Michael Were during the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup held in Ethiopia.

He talked highly of the Frank Nuttall side and the motivation to play side by side with fellow countrymen Meddie Kagere and Abouba Sibomana who are already established players at the 10-time Kenya Cup holders.

Jacques guided the Amavubi to the finals of the regional tournament (CECAFA) where they lost 1-0 to Uganda Cranes in the finals – he netted 5 goals including two penalties as they knocked out defending champions Kenya in the quarters and Sudan in the semis.

He boasts a strong aerial presence just like Olunga, a powerful right foot and strong physique, making him a constant threat to opposing defenders. He has scored once in the new 2015/16 Rwanda Premier League which is currently in it’s ninth round.
