Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee in the range of £34 million to acquire the services of Senegal and Southampton forward Sadio Mane.
Mane is expected to join Liverpool as one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history. He is without doubt a great player in his own right and can hurt any team.
However, his price tag has been described as outrageous by many Liverpool fans. Southampton will definitely make a huge profit for a player they signed for only £10 million.
Is Sadio Mane worth the money?
The Senegalese forward scored 15 goals for Southampton last season with 9 assists. Four of his goals came against Liverpool including the time when he came off the bench to notch a brace to give the Saints a dramatic 3-2 win.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised the striker even in defeat. Klopp has openly declared admiration for Mane while he was at Redbull Salzburg.
Mane possesses speed, skill and the ability to beat defenders at will. He will certainly fit in Liverpool’s style of play as he is full of energy and mobility.
While his price tag raises a lot of eyebrows and comes into question, Mane will certainly be a great signing for Liverpool.
