Zanzibar Archipelago will host next years edition of the CECAFA Kagame cup.Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye said this during the draw of this years CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup held at kenya’s capital Nairobi.
‘Zanzibar will host the 2016 Kagame Cup where among other teams we shall have Gor Mahia representing Kenya,The host for next years Senior Challenge will be decided on after the end of this years tournament’ he said.
This years edition was held in Tanzania with host team Azam winning it for the first time beating Gor Mahia 2-0 in an entertaining final.
Zanzibar’s sole representative KMKM were bundled out of this year’s tournament in the group stages.
Meanwhile,the draw for this editions of the Senior Challenge cup was announced by the secretary general at the body’s secretariat in Nairobi.
Group A has hosts Ethiopia,Rwanda,Tanzania and Somalia while Group B termed the group of death has Kenya,Uganda,Burundi and Zanzibar.
The last Group C has Sudan,South Sudan,Djibouti and guest team Malawi.
The tournament begin on Sunday 22nd November with defending Champions Kenya battling it out with Uganda.
