Burkina Faso defender Issoufou Dayo is injured and might miss the September 2 World Cup qualifier against Senegal.

The Morocco-based center back bruised his ankle during traning session with his current club Renaissance Sportive de Berkane at the weekend.

Dayo revealed his injury concerns yesterday in an interview with local Burkinabe media from his base in Berkane.

“I am undergoing therapy and doctors are yet to determine how long I will be inactive. I will know if I will be fit for the Dakar tie after a couple of weeks,” he said.

However, on a positive side, the player absence may be an opportunity for coach to groom another defender.

Dayo is yet to move to another Moroccoan side, a month after it was revealed that Raja Casablanca have offered RSB, £0.5m transfer fee for the striker.
