Claudio Ranieri has been reportedly included on a shortlist to become the next manager of Guinea .
The Italian was among 87 candidates for the role and has been placed on a 17-man shortlist which also includes former Belgium manager Georges Leekens.
Ranieri, who spent a turbulent period at Fulham last season, has been out of work since leaving AS Roma in May after taking over on a temporary basis.
According to Feguifoot, the 67-year-old will be interviewed for the role in Conakry on Thursday.
Ranieri’s finest managerial hour came during a dreamlike 2015-16 season at Leicester City, who shocked the world to win the Premier League by a margin ten points.
At Guinea, who host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, he will inherit a team which has never competed in a World Cup or won an AFCON title.
The post fell vacant after Belgian Paul Put was sacked after a poor perfomance at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
