Ivory Coast and Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has claimed that he was abused on social media by fans.

The 24-year-old posted on Instagram saying that followers of his former club Manchester United and their rivals Liverpool racially abused him.

“If Man United and Liverpool fans feel better by calling me a black monkey in my messages .. feel free to carry on if it makes your day better.”

He posted his update following his team 2-0 win over West Brom on Saturday where his team manager Frank de Boer claimed that their opponents intentionaly tried to injure the player with tackles.

Currently Zaha is in Hong Kong with the club for the Premier League Asia Trophy.He signed Crystal Palace in 2013 from Manchester United.
