The Turkish Company, Yenigun that won the contract for the construction of fifty thousand-seat capacity stadium in Douala has assured authorities that the football infrastructure will be ready by September 2018.
The architect of the project Zeki Bozkurt, on Friday, stated emphantically that the structure will be delivered in twelve months dispelling the rumours that his company was not competent to finish the job on time.
“We have just completed the foundation and work on the main stand is at advanced stage,”said Zeki.
The facility which is being constructed using the latest technology will host some of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations matches is being fixed with state of art equipment.
“We can say that about 20% of the work has been done already and we are working day and night to make sure we meet the deadline for delivery of the project,” Zuki added.
The Stadium will be completed at a cost around $240 million, according to Cameroon Tribune.
Cameroon has won the Nations Cup five times, four more than it has hosted the event – with its sole staging coming back in 1972, when Congo took the title.
