after the National football league. The Somali Football Federation has
been organizing the annual event since 1972 and it is held in the
remembrance of General Da’ud Abdulle, the founding father of Somalia’s
Armed Forces. The late father of Somali Army died in 1965.
This year’s General Da’ud Cup was broadened and contested by 16 football
clubs.
