Former international Jericho Shinde has urged the Junior Chipolopolo to make use of home advantage to win the next months under – 20 African Nations Cup. Zambia is in Group A alongside Mail Egypt and Guinea in the championships that will run from February 26 to March 12, 2017.
Shinde said in an interview that said the Beston Chambeshi drilled side should build on the success they acquired during the Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA).
Last month Zambia won the COSAFA under – 20 championships after beating hosts South Africa.
“Zambia should be the favourites, that is what should be clicking in our minds, we are the home team…we should dream to get the cup, but it will call for hard work.
“The COSAFA is gone we need to look at the AfCON now we need to forget the COSAFA and concentrate on winning the AFCON at home and qualify to the World cup,” Shinde said.
Meanwhile Shinde said he expects his former club Nkana to mount a strong title challenge this season after missing out on any cup success last season. Nkana finished third in the league with 70 points eleven behind eventual champions Zanaco.
