Jericho All Stars left back Maqbul Mohammed and Muhoroni Youth’s Mike Simiyu have been lined up to replace out-bound Eric “Marcelo” Ouma at Gor Mahia.

Marcelo, the 2016 Kenyan Premier League new player of the year is leaving the 15-times champions for trials abroad after disagreeing on contract extension.

The youngster is said to have insisted on a further 6-month contract extension, but Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier was taking nothing less than a 2-year-deal.

Highly rated Maqbul was a standout performer for the Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League side – helping them to a second spot finish last year.

K’Ogalo are leaving for Sudan for a pre-season friendly against Al Hilal on Friday 13th and are racing against time to conclude signings before departure.

Four more players including long serving goalkeeper Jerry Ongango who is hanging his gloves to join politics, Boron Oketch, who has been loaned to Ulinzi Stars and Rwandan left back Abuba Sibomana are also leaving the “green army.”
