Jimma Aba Bunna coach Dereje Belay found himself jobless at lunch-hour on Monday less than 48 hours after his side was held to a one all draw by Saint George FC in a Ethiopian Premier League match.
The coffee producers trainer was sent home after the club’s board met and did an audit of the club’s poor performance over the past six games in which the newly promoted side has performed poorly.
They could not divulge the reasons behind the sacking of Belay who joined the team this year following the promotion of the team that had wonderful performance in the second tier league.
Under his watch, Jimma recorded two wins,for draws and lost six matches.Currently they are in position 14th on the sixteen team table with accumulation of 10 points.
In his place the club has appointed Gebremedhin Haile as the head coach having signed a renewable six months contract.
Haile,a former Ethiopian national team player once handled the Walias as well as Defence football club.He will begin his new role on Thursday where he will be on touchline in a league game aganist Woldia City.
