KCCA got off to a flying start in Azam Premier League opening fixture after Joseph Ochaya and George Sserunkuma scored to silence visiting JMC Hippos at Philip Omondi Stadium on Friday.
KCCA got off the blocks quickly with Vincent Kayizzi shot being blocked in the tenth minute but it would still have bore fruits had Brian Majegwa anticipated well from the spill over.
But KCCA were in trouble in the early minutes after the start when Paul Mucureezi and Suleiman Akinyemi got injury scares but they were able to soldier on.
KCCA turned the tide from the 10th minute and Hippos defender Herbert Kakande was cautioned as his side struggled to contain their opponents.
KCCA added more pressure to the visitors and their efforts got rewarded in the 20th minute with Joseph Ochaya putting the hosts in the lead off a rebound after Mucureezi failed to beat the goalie.
At the an hour mark, JMC Hippos Viane Ssekajugo got an equalizer after playing a long ball that caught Ochan in a wrong position to level the scores at 1-1.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma then extended the scores five minutes later to put KCCA ahead for the second time. Despite being ahead, KCCA looked to be living dangerously and seemed to leave a lot of space in the back.
The win marks a good start for Kasasiro boys, who are seeking to retain the title.
