Kabwe Warriors defender Alfred Chirwa says he is recovering well after undergoing a knee operation in India.
Chirwa expressed confidence of getting to full training when the coronavirus pandemic is over or when teams are allowed to do so.
“I am feeling good, my body is in good shape and I am itching to get back on the pitch,” Chirwa told soka25east.com in an exclusive Interview on Wednesday.
Chirwa suffered damage to his knee in the match against Mufulira Wanderers in August 2017 but due to financial constraints of the club the player only underwent surgery in January this year.
The club Management managed to fly the player to India where he needed specialist treatment on his knee.
“I have been out for so long but thank God I can say, I am finally ready to get back to the pitch soon,” he adds.
“I have missed playing for my team Kabwe Warriors and I can’t wait to kick the ball again.
“I have been undergoing gradual rehabilitation. Of course we can’t return to training right now due to the Coronavirus outbreak but I am hoping to get back to full fitness as soon as we are permitted to return to training.
