Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Joseph Malongoane is set to under go surgery to rectify the injury on his broken leg.
The injury to Malongoane over the weekend could mean that the former Orlando Pirates man’s season is over.
Free State Stars midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula beat Malingoane to the ball during the MTN8 quarterfinal at FNB Stadium on Saturday but in his follow through his foot landed on the Amakhosi players right ankle.
Dr Aadil Boghania of Kaizer Chiefs Medical department told the club official website that Joseph Malongoane will undergo surgery to repair his lower right leg.Early prognosis indicates a fracture of the distal tibla and Fibula to the lower right leg.
Given the extent of the injury,Malongoane is unlikely to play against this season The Chiefs medical team has since confirmed that Malongoane leg was broken into two places and that he would undergo an operation.
Free State Stars midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula has apologised to Kaizer Chiefs counterpart Joseph Malongoane for breaking his leg accidentaly.
“From my bottom of my heart I didn’t intend to do and cause any harm to him,therefore I wish him a speedy recovery”he said.
