Kaizer Chiefs have sacked head coach Gavin Hunt with immediate effect following a string of poor results.
The club announced on its official website that Hunt has been released from his contract.
Hunt joined Amakhosi in September 2020 ahead of the 2020/21 season.
During this time, he was in charge of 44 official matches, Hunt recorded 12 wins 17 draws and 15 losses in all competitions.
The team is currently on 11th position in the DSTV Premiership having accumulated 30 points in the 28 matches played.
Despite the poor results domestically, Hunt has managed to lead Amakhosi to the Semifinals of the Total CAF Champions League after defeating Simba of Tanzania 4-3 on Aggregate.
In the interim, Assistant Coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will take charge of the senior team.
The Club will make further announcements in due course.
