Kaizer Chiefs have announced the termination of Namibia international, Virgil Vries’, contract with immediate effect.
An official statement released by the Amakhosi read: “Kaizer Chiefs continued with the process of closing off the season with an announcement of goalkeeper Virgil Vries leaving the club.
“The club confirmed that negotiations with the Namibian goalminder were concluded on Tuesday afternoon. Virgil Vries joined Chiefs on 1 July 2018 and with immediate effect (30 April) entered into a mutual termination and release agreement.”
Vries leaves Naturena not even a year into his three-year contract at the club. The 28-year-old kept four clean sheets in eight games across all competitions this season.
The shot-stopper is expected to by Namibia’s starting goalkeeper at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
