Zambia legend Kalusha Bwalya has been appointed to lead a panel of five to help recruit new Uganda Cranes coach, Uganda FA has revealed.
Meanwhile those interested in the job can apply starting 23rd to 29th October 2017 through email address vacancy@fufa.co.ug.
“Qualified applicants from Uganda and abroad can apply,” FUFA CEO Edgar Watson told the media at the organization’s premises in Mengo Wednesday.
Other members of the panel include Watson (FUFA CEO and CAF Technical Committee member), Asuman Lubowa (FUFA Technical Director), Livingstone Kyambadde (Uganda Football Coaches’ chairperson) and a member from the National Council of Sports.
Kalusha’s choice was because of his standing in African football.
“We have considered Kalusha Bwalya because of his legacy in African football as a player, an administrator and a member of the CAF Technical Committee,” Watson clarified.
A new coach will be announced before 15th November.
Moses Basena has been the stand in coach since Serbian Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic quit in a huff in August over breach of contract.
Micho has since returned to coach Orland Pirates in the South Africa’s Premier Soccer League.
During his reign he molded Uganda to become one of the emerging footballing nations in Africa.
He managed to break a 39-year jinx to qualify them to the Gabon 2017 African Cup of Nations.
