Aaron Katebe is set to undergo trials at Wydad Athletic Club in Morocco. The Zambian defender and FC Platinum was invited by reigning Botola league Champions few weeks ago but failed to travel due to Visa problem.
Club insiders told soka25east’s reporter James Sibeleki that the player is expected to be in Casablanca next week.
“Katebe was invited but he never came.He will be in Casablanca next week for tests.”
Katebe plies his trade in Zimbabwe with FC Platunum and was member of the Chipolopolo 2013 COSAFA Squad.Recently he attended trials at Polokwane City in South Africa.
Wydad Coach John Toshack is assembling a team to contest the league which is bound to get in full swing. Thus far, they perforated Malick Evouna’s void by signing former Mali league top scorer and Stade Malien Bamako striker Mokter Cisse. The Gabon international Evouna was Wydad’s talisman and league top scorer last season. He moved to newly crowned Egyptian league champions Zamalek.
At the moment the team is in Portugal for preseason and will take on United Arab Emirates powerhouse Al Ain in Moroccan Emirati Super Cup on 5th August 2015.
