Ugandan international Allan Kateregga has expressed his delight following his new club Cape Town City FC debut against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday 1 April at the Cape Town Stadium.
Kateregga came in as a second half-substitute and starred in the game creating chances for his teammates. He twice came close to caping his debut with a goal but failed to beat Masandawana keeper.
“I am happy to finally play for my new side despite losing but that is football, we played very well as a team but we were unlucky not to win but we shall keep working harder to win more league matches,” said Kateregga as quoted by Uganda based portal BigWhaleSport.
The midfielder earned plaudits from several quarters for his near perfect debut and the former AFC Leopards man was over the moon after finally making his debut for Citizens.
“I didn’t feel any pressure at all playing against Sundowns. That is for people who don’t know what they are doing,”he added.
Kateregga signed from AFC Leopards in Januray after an impressive loan spell at KCCA and was yet to feature for Citizens due to an injury but has since fully recovered.
