Mamelodi Sundowns forward Antony Laffour was the hero of the day when his team stormed into group stages of the CAF Champions League. He scored a late equaliser to save the 2016 African Champions an embarrassing defeat. Hosts KCCA looked set for victory after they scored in the first half through Geofrey Sserunkuma who scored in the 30th minute.
The former Vasco da Gama forward,Sserunkuma,opened the scoring in the first half when he turned home Brian Majwega cross amind jubilitions of thousands of fans who filled the Philip Omondi Stadium.
Ten minutes to the end Laffour grabbed the equaliser when he rifled the ball into the back of the net.
Kasasiro boys enjoyed more of the chances in the early stages with Joseph Ochaya and Allan Okello going close inside the opening 10 minutes.
Brazilians were then dealt a blow as Wayne Arendse picked up a knock and was replaced by Soumahoro Bangaly in the early minutes of the game.
The Kasasiro boys had a couple chances throughout the opening 45 minutes, with Allan Okello and Mucureezi forcing the Sundown goalie into acrobatic saves.
Nonetheless, the score remained 1-0 to the home side, as the sides entered the halftime break.
In the second half the Brazilians brought in Anthony Laffor for Anele Ngcongca and their play improved.
Percy Ntau nearly got an equalizer after beating KCCA defence but Benjamin Ochan made a fine save to deny the champions.
On the 71 minutes Brazilians made another change with the coach bringing in SundoTiyani Mabunda for Mzikayise Mashaba.
Both changes beared fruit in the 80th minute as Laffor rifled the ball home from close range to silence the home fans.
KCCA tried to push for an equalizer but the visitors defended in numbers at the closing stages.The draw saw Mamelodi Sundowns win the tie 3-2 on aggregate.
