KCCA FC are the 2018/19 StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions.
This was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon after the Kasasiros were held to a 1-1 draw away to Ndejje University at the Arena of Visions in Bombo.
Anwar Ntege put the home side in front in the first half but KCCA drew level with a Saddam Juma goal in the second.
Going into the game knowing that just a point would seal a 13th League title, Mike Mutebi’s side started nervously with Allan Okello going into the referee’s book for foul play.
Despite controlling most the first half, KCCA found them selves trailing to an Anwar Ntege goal on 43 minutes.
Ndejje who came into the game three points away from safety, went into the break all smiles and with a new lease of hope as they led by a slender 1-0 advantage.
From the resumption of the game, KCCA dominated possession and went all out for the all important goal that would seal the League crown.
Two minutes after the hour mark, KCCA found their joy from an unlikely source.
Saddam Juma who has been injured for the better part of the season struck to pull the visitors level.
KCCA FC fans celebrate Saddam Juma’s equalizer on Tuesday.
In the end, both sides drew 1-1 but for KCCA, it was celebrations as they were crowned the 2018/19 League champions.
