Kenya’s Harambee Stars squad preparing for the 2018 CHAN lost 2-0 to Morocco U21 side in Morocco Monday.

The friendly played last night was the second for the home-based professionals following a 1-1 draw against Mauritania last week.

Two second half goals from Belaamri Youssef in the 69th minute and Hamza Hanouri’s ten minutes to the final whistle settled the game in favor of the hosts.

The Kenya’s B side has been under the tutelage of two assistant coaches of the main national team Frank Ouna and Musa Otieno.

Ouna said: “We have lost 0-2 but still believe. We march on lads. Early October another set of friendly matches. God above all.”

Initially, they were to face Togo in international friendly but the Sparrow Hawks changed their minds as they wanted Kenya’s A team.

Kenya is scheduled to host CHAN 2018; however, it remains doubtful if this will actually happen as most infrastructural work remain way behind schedule.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) is expected to give the way forward on the future the event on 23rd of this month.

Strong indicators are that Kenya will be stripped off the rights with South Africa and Morocco believed to be the likely countries the step in for East Africans.
