Gor Mahia chairman who also doubles up as the Kenyan Premier League chairman Ambrose Rachier belives he is the right man to bring back sanity to football in Kenya if elected Football Kenya Federation President in the upcoming elections scheduled for December 14th 2015.
The Gor boss who is one of the top lawyers in Kenya said unlike four years ago when he lost, he will not be relying solely on the backing of the 16 KPL clubs, who are part of the 77 delegates who will take part in the national elections
“I am seeking the support from all the delegates and not only looking at solely gaining the support of a particular group of stakeholders as i believe i have got what it takes to manage football at the highest level ,” Rachier told soka25east.com
The experienced administrator has said he will base his campaign on five factors key to the success of football, namely good players, good coaches, good referees, good fields and good management.
“When elected, my target is to have a viable youth, coaches and referees training programmes in all the federation branches. In the same breath before 2010 we hope to have built one and preferably more high standard playing field in addition training at least ten officials in management matters annually,” he elaborated.
The Gor boss extolled his eight-year stint as chairman in difficult circumstances as evidence of his capability to lead Kenyan football. “My leadership in Gor under difficult circumstances for the past 8 years and KPL for the last three years speaks volumes. It is this wealth of experience that I intend to bring into the federation,” he concluded.
