Kenya U-17 have failed to qualify for the U-17 COSAFA Cup semifinals after falling to a 5-0 defeat in one sided clash against Malawi on Tuesday.
Having played the last Group B game and only the top two in the group to qualify, Kenya could not make up the needed three points to book a ticket to the semi-finals.
Kenya started in a wrong foot and in the 19th minute Francis Nzuze headed a beautiful cross from the left to register his first goal for Malawi.
Peter Banda doubled the lead just moments after the start of second half with an impressive shot after beating two defenders and goalkeeper to score in 52nd minute.
Kenya looked to recover from the shock and went out all guns blazing in search for the goal but Peter Banda came again in 59th minute with a beautiful goal that seemed to kill Stars hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals.
In what was becoming a rout,Francis Madinga added another goal in 64th minute to make it 4-0 before Peter Banda making a hat-trick in the 90th minute to make it 5-0 sending Kenya out of championship.
Kenya who were guest nation in the tournament managed only one win aganist Madagascar losing to Zambia and now Malawi
