There will be no branch and national elections as were scheduled for Saturday 18 and Tuesday 22 after all.
In a letter dispatched to newsrooms, Football Kenya Federations (FKF) Elections Board Chairman, Donald Korir has cited appeals before the FKF Appeals Board over irregularities in the just ended sub-branch elections as the reason for the cancellation.
“With great regret, FKF Elections Board announces cancellations of Branch and National Elections scheduled for December 18th and 22nd respectively. The cancellation has been necessitated by the on-going appeals at the FKF Appeals Board, which arise from the recently concluded Sub-Branch elections,” the letter read in part.
“We have consistently informed the public that the elections shall remain remain free, fair and transparent and giving room for appeals enhances our pledge. We will announce dates once the appeals period ends early next week.”
