The Gotv Shield tournament last 16 was charactericed by yet another shock when another big wig in Tusker failed to progress to the last eight after going down to second tier Nzoia FC in an entertaining match played at Kisumu County’s Moi Stadium.
In an earlier match played at the same venue,Awendo based Sony Sugar dispatched fellow millers West Kenya Sugar 2-1 to progress to the last eight.After a fist half goalless draw Edwin oduor opened the scorers chat at the hour mark before Brian Arasa equalized seven minutes later before Oduor completed his brace three minutes later for a 2-1 win.
In another match Lawrence Wanyama and Geoffrey Muhando goals in the 47th and 57th minutes was enough as Administration Police beat Fresha 2-0.
Farid Mohammed and Sharif Mohammed both scored as Bandari outclassed AP Bommet 2-1 in an entertaining match where Dickson wambugu scored the consolation for the Bomet boys as Nakumatt humiliated Fortune Sacco 0-4 away with Peter Nzuki’s penalty,Kennedy Onyango,Mustapha Mohammed and Cornelius Juma completing the rout.
In a shocking result in Kisumu,Mark Bikokwa Baraza had his earlier goal cancelled by Clifford Alwanga as Tusker came from a goal down to hold Nzoia in match that ended in Nzoia’s favour winning the ultimate penalty shoot out.
