Migori County border based team Isebania FC is one of the two teams from the larger South Nyanza that will feature in this year’s Kenya’ third tier, the Division One league which apparently is the precursor to the second tier league, the National Super League. Isebania FC has been in fine form last season finishing among the top teams in the Provincial league, a fete that helped them feature in the re organized third tier league that has also surprise team in Green Commandos, a high school team that has been performing well.
The border based club is rallying upon all the Migori County residents to support the team and help them qualify for the National Super League next season. They are urging on the county government of Migori under the able leadership of Governor Okoth Obado to help the team both financially and with structures as they are the only team not only from Migori but also the larger South Nyanza apart from Shabana that are gracing the third tier. The county has also Premier League side Sony Sugar.
They are also optimistic of playing their home matches at the Migori County stadium once the stadium is completed to attract a huge crowd.
The club will have to fight it out with another 13 teams for the sole position with BondsoUnited, Nyakach United, Field Nagoya, Kakamega High school some of the tough opponents they will have to meet.
Elsewhere, Kakamega High school Green Commandos became the only and first O level school to qualify for a competitive FKF organized league after winning the Provincial league in style. The multiple Kenya Secondary Boys champions will be the first secondary school to grace the third tier league. The school has been known to produce one of the best players in recent years and a feeder to most Second tier and KPL clubs. among them are Gor Mahia’s loaned to Rangers Timothy Otieno, Gor Mahia’ new signing Eric Otieno among others.
