Newly formed Elections Board has set new dates for the much awaited Football Kenya Federation (FKF) polls, in a bid to deliver credible process.
National elections will now take place on December 10,2015 and not November 13th as was earlier set. Sub branch and branch elections are slated for 26th November and 3rd December and not 29th October and 5th November as was the case initially.
The confirmation was made on Friday, October 23 by the Elections Board Treasurer David Mereka.
“The Football Kenya Federation Electoral Board wishes to inform the football stakeholders and the general public that on this day of 23rd October 2015, a handing over process of electoral documents took place at the FKF Secretariat. The Board will now embark on verifying the voters register to deliver a free and fair polls.” Mereka said.
The timetable for the elections states that the list of teams to vote, plus the list of officials that the officially handed over will be published in the local dailies on Wednesday, October 28. A 13 day window period from 29th October to 10th November will the be given for any complaints and subsequent adjustments if there be need before the final list is published on November 11th.
The Board will the carry out civic education from 12th to 24th November.
